Alex is a pet freelance writer and editor with more than 10 years of experience. He attended Colorado State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, which was where he first got some experience in animal nutrition.

After graduating from University, Alex began sharing his knowledge as a freelance writer specializing in pets.

1. What inspired you to start

I’ve always been passionate about fishkeeping and home aquariums, and I thought it would be great to have a website that was dedicated to providing accurate and useful information for aquarists. I also wanted to provide a platform for local businesses and organizations to share their information with our readers.

2. What’s the first kind of fish you kept?

I enjoyed watching fish in aquariums since I was a kid, and I have a 5-gallon tank full of guppies. This kind of fish was fantastic and easy to keep, I spent many hours a day contemplating them.

3. Why did you choose the Koi fish as your website’s symbol?

I am attracted by the calming influence, coolness, and naturally beautiful appearance of these creatures. Koi fish is elegant and represents strength, perseverance which are the characteristics I am eager to achieve.
