Google Home is an app that helps you in your home management virtually. It is a very advanced home manager which helps you in sticking to a set routine. It gives you full control and acts as a virtual robot acting when you order, or you can set an automation setup for things at your convenience.
To set up Google Home, you must download the app from the Play Store and then begin step-wise as per the notifications sent to you by Google.
1. Steps to Set Up Google Home
We talked to Soubhik Chakrabarti, founder of Icy Tales https://icytales.com, who walked us through the process.
- Start by plugging in your Google Sound device and keep your smartphone near it.
- After the Google Sound device has found the connection, it will speak to you something about how to proceed.
- You can sign in to the Google Home app with your existing Gmail account or create a new one just for this purpose.
- After you have signed in properly the new device setup option will occur, which will ask you to give a nickname for your home and put the proper address.
- You must let the device scan the location because then only you can get accurate weather forecast news, traffic news, and other information.
- Connect the device to your active home WiFi network to let it function.
- Do the Google Assistant setting. Issue your voice note for more personalization. Your Google assistant will work on your command only by recognizing your voice.
- You can connect all of your home electronic devices like televisions, air conditioners, lights, fans, doorbells, or electronic locks.
- You can command the Google Home to make phone calls, send messages and emails, play musical content, video content, or make payments.
- You can either choose to automate so many things, like making various regular payments, turning off the light, and locking the door, or do a setting for sending reminders.
Points to be noted before you decide to set up your Google home
- Your electronic devices which you wish to connect must be compatible with the Google Home devices.
- Either buy devices from the same company, Google or ask about the product compatibility during the purchase
- When you are beginning, make fewer settings that you can easily manage because too much of notifications will only give you anxiety.
- Start learning the app and make it more personal by doing all the intimate settings.
- Make sure to have a good WiFi connection which always on otherwise, the app can perform fewer functions only. For example, Google Home will play videos and songs which are already downloaded.
Google Home however advanced is an app only and does not guarantee you a smooth flow of work every time. There are tutorials given in the help center option for solving problems.
Google Home thing is here to bring some ease to your life. Google Home app is like any other social media app which you will learn to handle with time. Do not set automation for so many things otherwise, it can cause serious problems. Do the advanced setting after you have gained enough knowledge about the Google Home app.
